Ferrari, Exor clinch alliance with former Apple designer

Italian luxury car maker Ferrari and its parent company Exor, are joining forces with with Jony Ive. It is the creative mind behind many of Apple’s iconic products along with its fellow designer Marc Newson. This duo developed Apple Watch. The company stated that LoveFrom will explore a range of creative projects with Exor in the business of luxury. This partnership is a multi-year deal. A Ferrari spokesman said that this pair will have a broad remit.

Ive had been mentioned in the Italian press as a possible candidate to replace Louis Camilleri, as the chief executive of Ferrari last year. At last, Ferrari turned to technology industry veteran Benedetto Vigna to drive the luxury sports car maker. Ferrari had unveiled its first in-house fashion collection and inaugurated a new restaurant in its hometown of Maranello. Exor has recently moved its first steps into luxury. It became the largest shareholder in Chinese luxury group Shang Xia, last year. Recently, it entered a partnership to invest in Italian high-end consumer goods with the World-Wide Investment Company Ltd.

Exor is often mentioned as a potential partner for fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani. London-born Ive, left Apple in 2019. Newson, an Australian, has designed everything from Qantas business class seats to Nike sneakers.
